Weapons from the new US military aid package worth $1.1 billion will be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of a long-term support program for Ukraine.
The Pentagon has confirmed new military aid for Ukraine, its value is about $1.1 billion. It is emphasized that this will be a “multi-year investment” in critical capabilities to increase the power of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was noted that the assistance is provided within the framework of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

“This announcement is the beginning of the process of concluding contracts to provide Ukraine with additional priority capabilities in the medium and long term,” explained the US Department of Defense.
The Pentagon presented the full list of weapons included in the package:

18 highly mobile artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) and ammunition for them;

150 armored highly mobile multipurpose wheeled vehicles (HMMWV);

150 tactical vehicles for towing weapons;

40 trucks and 80 trailers for the transportation of heavy equipment;

two radars for unmanned aerial vehicles;
-
20 multipurpose radars;

anti-drone air system;
-
tactical protected communication systems, surveillance systems and optics;

explosive ordnance disposal equipment;
-
body armor and other field equipment;
-
funding for training, maintenance and support.
As mentioned, in total, since the beginning of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal aggression, the United States has allocated more than $16.2 billion to Ukraine.
The Pentagon emphasized that the US Department of Defense continues to work with Ukraine to meet its immediate and long-term needs for security assistance.
It can be recalled that the previous Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis called for more weapons to be transferred to Ukraine, commenting on the mass crimes of the occupiers of Izyum.
