EU member states are holding consultations to agree on a new package of sanctions as soon as possible.
The members of the European Union are holding consultations on the next package of sanctions without waiting for the completion of Russia’s pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine, and France will fully support it. This is what French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said in a joint briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
“If Russia recognizes the results of these illegal referendums, there will be new sanctions. There will be sanctions that the European Union will take and France will fully support these sanctions,” the Foreign Minister insisted.
The minister noted that EU member states are holding consultations to agree on a new package as soon as possible. Restrictions will be individual to punish those who organized pseudo-referendums, and collective, that is, sectoral sanctions are planned.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine met with the head of the French Foreign Ministry.
