Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the 64th motorized rifle brigade, which occupied the city of Bucha in the Kiev region, the title of guards. The corresponding order is published on the official portal of legal information of the Russian Federation.
“For the widespread heroism and courage, fortitude and courage shown by the personnel in the combat operations to protect the Father and the interests of the state,” the order said.
The head of state also sent a congratulatory telegram to the brigade.
According to the open source, the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade was formed in January 2009 and is part of the 35th combined army army based in the Eastern Military District.
