The Ukrainian leader shared his opinion that the Kremlin leader was “not fooling” when he threatened to use nuclear weapons.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is serious about using nuclear weapons. The Ukrainian leader said this in an interview with the French television channel CBS on Sunday, September 25.
“Look, maybe yesterday was a bluff. But today it could be a reality. What is the modern use of nuclear weapons or nuclear blackmail? They targeted and occupied our nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar. There are six blocks .. .Like six blocks of Chernobyl. A few days ago they started shelling another, South Ukrainian, nuclear power plant. A shell fell 300 meters from the station, windows and doors in the building flew out. He wanted scare the whole world. I don’t think he’s flattering,” said the head of state.
He expressed the opinion that the world still contains this threat.
“We must continue to put pressure on him and prevent him from continuing,” Zelensky urged.
It will be recalled that on September 21, in his video message to the Russian people, Putin said that all means of destruction, including nuclear, would be used in the event of a threat to Russia’s territorial integrity and that “it is not a bluff.”
Then the Ukrainian president called this situation unlikely.
