The OP adviser called on the West to move ATACMS to Kyiv in response to the “votes” announced by the occupiers.
Ukraine’s Western partners have to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with modern battle tanks and ATACMS missiles, in response to the Russian Federation’s plans to hold “referendums” in the occupied Ukrainian territories. About that expressed advisor to the head of the Office of the President (OP) Mikhail Podolyak on his Twitter account on Tuesday, September 20.
“The world community must immediately and harshly respond to the attempt to annex the territory of Ukraine, increasing aid to arms and introducing new economic sectoral sanctions against Russia,” he stressed.
The OP representative believes that it is time to provide modern tanks and long-range ATACMS missiles for Ukraine as Russia has opposed this step.
ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) is an operational-tactical missile system (OTRK), designed to hit target points: command posts, missile launchers, air defense facilities, communication centers, train located deep in the enemy’s defenses.
The missiles are launched by an innovative M270 and M142 HIMARS MLRS launcher.
ATACMS can operate in all weather conditions and at any time of the day.
The OTRK has the MGM-140B missile. It is an operational tactical missile with a range increased to 300 km.
Recall that the quasi-head of the “LPR” Leonid Pasechnik signed the “referendum law” adopted by the “parliament” of the pseudo-republic. The “DPR” said they also intend to hold a pseudo-referendum on joining Russia.
It should be noted that the world community commented on the “votes” planned by Russia in the occupied territories of Ukraine. In particular, representatives of the United States, Germany, Poland, Latvia, as well as the NATO Secretary General expressed their solidarity with Kyiv.
