In order to facilitate the negotiation process in Ukraine, the Turkish President advised Russia to return the occupied territories.

“In Uzbekistan, I met President Putin and we had very extensive discussions with him. And he made me understand that he is ready to end this as soon as possible. I got the impression that the situation is becoming quite problematic; 200 hostages will be exchanged by agreement between the parties,” he said.
Erdogan noted that the return of Ukrainian territories seized by Russia would facilitate the process of negotiations.
“This is what is needed and expected. In this matter, Mr. Guterres (UN Secretary General) has taken steps. We have taken steps. These steps and this return will really make our work easier,” he said.
The President of Turkey noted that since 2014, in meetings with Putin, he called on him to return the annexed Crimea.
“They are also our compatriots. We told them (the Russians) that if you take this step, it will pacify us, pacify Ukraine, pacify the Crimean Tatars as well. But, unfortunately, from then, no steps have been taken in this direction. it’s over,” Erdogan said.
It will be remembered that last week at the SCO summit, Putin said that he will do everything to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible.
