Denmark intended to send its instructors to train the Ukrainians in Britain, but now it has become known that the exercises will also take place on Danish territory.
The Ukrainian authorities accepted Denmark’s proposal regarding the training of Ukrainian military personnel on Danish territory. Defense Minister Morten Bedskov said this during a visit to Kyiv, reports Ekstra Bladet.
“The training will take place in Denmark. I cannot say the details, but Ukrainian military personnel will be trained in Denmark,” Bedskov said.
In August, it became known that Denmark will send 130 instructors to the UK in the autumn to train Ukrainian soldiers.
At the same time, it was learned from the Danish Minister of Defense that he proposed to Ukraine that soldiers could also be trained on Danish soil.
The minister did not rule out that the military could arrive in Denmark before the end of the year.
“Denmark is one of the countries where the training will be held, and there are other European countries that have also started training activities,” he said.
At the same time, Bedskov added that Denmark has “many years of experience in preparing the Ukrainian defense.” This was the case, for example, in Ukraine from 2015 until the Russian invasion on February 24th.
