Ukrainians are forced to stand at Russian checkpoints for days to get permission to enter Ukrainian-controlled territory.
About 1.2 million Ukrainians still remain in the territories temporarily occupied by the Russians. This was announced on Monday, September 12, by the Minister for Reunification of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Irina Vereshchuk, on the air of the national telethon.

“I know that about 300,000 people are in the Donetsk region. We are talking about 500,000 in the Kherson region. We understand that about 350,000 are in the Zaporozhye region,” Vereshchuk said.
Speaking about the Kharkiv region, most of which was recently cleared by Ukrainian defenders, he noted that these people had to evacuate. According to him, most people can leave on their own or wait for evacuation buses arranged by the authorities.
It is known that the authorities are organizing the evacuation of residents in communities whose infrastructure is damaged and people there will no longer be able to survive the winter.
Recall that earlier the Ministry of Defense published a video recorded in the liberated region of Balakliya, Kharkiv.
It was also reported that the de-occupation process in the Luhansk region may begin after the liberation of the city of Liman, Donetsk region.
