The total area of the arrested real estate objects is more than 5 thousand square meters.
The court arrested the assets of former People’s Deputy Valery Gorbatov, who previously headed the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The State Bureau of Investigation reported this on Monday, September 12.
It is indicated that Gorbatov continued to conduct business activities in the occupied territories of Ukraine and pay taxes to the occupiers and terrorist organizations.
The assets of a person close to the representative of the former citizen, with whom he re-registered his businesses, were also arrested. Gorbatov tried to hide his illegal activities from the Ukrainian state authorities and continue his economic activities on the territory of the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea, paying taxes and fees to the aggressor’s state budget.
Overall, three apartments, eight administrative buildings, two residential buildings, 15 non-residential facilities and 42 vehicles (eight cars, 34 agricultural vehicles, trailers) were arrested.
The total area of the arrested real estate objects is more than 5 thousand square meters.
The pre-trial investigation continues to:
-
Part 4 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (funding of actions taken with the purpose of forcing to change or overthrow the constitutional order or usurpation of state power, change of territorial boundaries or state border of Ukraine);
-
part 3 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of the law, rejection of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The penalty of the articles provides a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
It will be recalled that in June 2022, the State Bureau of Investigation exposed Gorbatov for financing the terrorist organization “DNR”. The former official also appropriated the cultural heritage of Ukraine, according to preliminary information, which was stolen from the museums of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and bought from “black archaeologists.”
The collaborator has close ties to the so-called leader of the annexed Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, with whom he has a common business. And Aksenov’s wife gave a power of attorney for the right to use his property to Valery Gorbatov.
Recall that last week the assets of the ex-deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for 10 billion hryvnias were arrested in Ukraine. According to media reports, we are talking about Vladimir Krupchak.
