This question was one of the most important at the Ramstein meeting a few days ago.
At the meeting of partner countries in Ramstein, the development in Ukraine of a three-level system in the field of air defense / missile defense was discussed. As Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said on Saturday, September 10, this issue was one of the most important at the last meeting.
“We cannot discuss all the details now. But among the most important priorities is the development of a three-level air defense / missile defense system. A clear vision in this matter has been formed thanks to the successful actions and based on the experience of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the command of Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk, whose arguments I mentioned partners,” Reznikov wrote.
According to him, in addition to the issue raised in the field of air defense / missile defense, it is also important that Ukraine has already received Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery installations from Germany.
He noted that Ukraine has already received Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery mounts from Germany, and the Iris-T air defense system is on the way.
“Our specialists are completing their training on the modern German Iris-T air defense system, which will soon make our skies safer. A major decision was made regarding NASAMS systems. Not to mention armored vehicles and a large amount of other assistance,” Reznikov wrote, summarizing the results of the last 4.5 months of cooperation with Western partners.
It will be recalled that on September 8, another meeting was held in Germany at the Ramstein airbase. Here, Ukrainian delegates were promised a new weapon that would strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
