Ukrainians show “creativity” by combining weapons provided by different countries in their actions.

The Ukrainian counteroffensive in the south is showing “encouraging signs,” said US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Policy Sasha Baker, CNN reports.

“As you can imagine, we are following the progress of the counter-offensive very closely … We have seen some encouraging signs even in the last two days,” Baker said.

According to him, the Ukrainians show “creativity”, combining in their actions the weapons provided by different countries.

“However, the Russians are a formidable opponent and a long struggle lies ahead,” said the US Deputy Secretary of Defense.

The publication notes that his words are the first use of the term “counteroffensive” in relation to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region by a senior Pentagon official. United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Chief of the United Defense Staff Mark Milley avoided using the word.
