The city council decided in this way to thank the people of Britain and the royal family for supporting Ukraine.

In Sumy, they decided to name one of the streets after the English Queen Elizabeth II. Mayor Alexander Lysenko reported this on Facebook.

“For the invaluable support of the royal family, we have the initiative to name one of Sumy’s streets after Queen Elizabeth II,” he wrote.

As the mayor of Sumy said, this unique personality will be remembered both in Britain and in Ukraine.

“We share all the pain of the people of Great Britain. And we sincerely thank the Ukrainians for their support. In this difficult time for both peoples, we are united and support each other, ” added Lysenko.

We remind you, the 96-year-old Elizabeth II died on September 8 after lunch surrounded by family at the Scottish castle of Balmoral. His son, Prince Charles, will rule the United Kingdom. He took the name Charles III. Elizabeth II will be buried on September 18.
