Proceeds from the sale of these assets can be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the restoration of infrastructure destroyed by the enemy.
Ukrainian authorities arrested 169 real estate objects worth more than 10 billion hryvnias, owned by a former deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. This is what the National Police reported on Thursday, September 8.
“The real beneficial owner of the seized property is a Russian paper magnate and ex-deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, who is engaged in business on the territory of Ukraine,” the message said.
While law enforcement officials were established, business officials set up a procedure for withdrawing funds in the Russian Federation and a mechanism for tax evasion in a particularly large measure.
“In the course of international cooperation, it was established that after the full-scale Russian military aggression on the territory of Ukraine, the above enterprises continued to conduct financial transactions with the aggressor country through intermediaries from European Union. The income received replenished the Russian budget, through which the army of the enemy of Russia and its criminal actions on the territory of Ukraine were financed “, – noted in the National Police.
As part of the criminal proceedings, which were investigated on the facts of tax evasion and legalization (laundering) of the property obtained by criminal means, more than 10 billion hryvnias were confiscated in rights of corporations, factories, combined, land plots and other real estate objects.
“It is planned to transfer the confiscated property to the management of ARMA. Proceeds from the sale of property related to the Russian Federation can be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure of the enemy,” the message said.
The message did not indicate the name of the former deputy of the State Duma. As Interfax-Ukraine clarified, we are talking about Vladimir Krupchak.
The previous day, it was reported that the assets of the Kremlin business structure, controlled by the protégés of the Opposition Platform for Life, were transferred to the property of the Ukrainian state.
Agricultural business assets worth UAH 4.6 billion were also transferred to ARMA. It is part of the authorized capital of the company, owned by a citizen of the Russian Federation.
