The plants will appear in two years. The projects will be implemented through loans from European banks.

On the territory of Boryspil, Brovary and Fastiv communities, it is planned to build two modern plants for the treatment of household waste using several processing technologies at once. This was reported by Ukrinform.

It is known that on September 8, a memorandum of cooperation and partnership was signed in the field of waste management.

The new plants will process organic (food waste) with the subsequent production of biomethane, as well as deep sorting of waste with the release of valuable material resources – scrap metal, glass and plastic.

The planned capacity of the joint plant for the communities of Brovary and Boryspil is about 110-120 thousand tons of waste per year, in the Fastovsky district – 35-100 thousand tons per year. New capacities are expected to appear within two years.

According to Minister of Environmental Protection Ruslan Strelts, the projects will be implemented through loans from European banks. Negotiations with investors are also ongoing.

As reported, in Ukraine only 5% of waste is recycled, while in some EU countries more than 90% is recycled.
