The European Commission offers Ukraine an additional aid package in the amount of five billion euros. This money will be in addition to the 10 billion that were allocated earlier.
Today, the European Commission offers Ukraine an additional 5 billion euros of macro-financial assistance. This is in addition to the €10 billion the European Union has already provided in financial, humanitarian and military assistance, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen tweeted on September 7.
Earlier, the European Union sent Ukraine 1 billion euros of exceptional macro-financial assistance. The first tranche of 500 million euros was credited to the NBU account on August 1.
In addition, the European Investment Bank (EIB) provided Ukraine with 1.59 billion euros of financial assistance from the European Union. According to a press release published on the EIB website, the aid is supported by guarantees from the EU budget, with 1.05 billion euros of the total amount to be provided immediately.
Ukraine also received $1.7 billion in grant assistance from the World Bank Trust Fund and the US Agency for International Development.
On July 3, Prime Minister Denys Shmihal announced that Ukraine had agreed with its Western partners on support totaling $29 billion.
During the six months of the war, the expenditures of the state budget of Ukraine amounted to about 1 trillion hryvnia. This was announced in August by Prime Minister Shmigal during a government meeting.
More than 40% of all expenditures from the state budget are the needs of the army. Most of the funds were spent on the defense and security of the state – UAH 420 billion.
UAH 288 billion was allocated for military salaries, and UAH 135 billion for the purchase and repair of military equipment, the purchase of ammunition and defense products.
