The Swiss, who heat their homes with gas, have to comply with temperature standards.
The Swiss government has introduced administrative responsibility for citizens for heating homes above certain temperatures. Residents face jail time or fines. This was reported by the Swiss German-language edition Blick.
In buildings heated by gas, the temperature cannot exceed +19 degrees. At the same time, hot water can only heat up to +60 degrees. Heaters should not be used.
Residents of the country are also prohibited from heating saunas and swimming pools. An exception is made only for hospitals, maternity hospitals and nursing homes.
Anyone who violates these rules will face imprisonment or a fine. In the case of intentional acts, it is possible to be imprisoned for up to three years or a fine.
Violation of negligence measures also faces a fine of up to 180 daily rates. One is about 30 Swiss francs, but the total amount should not exceed 3 thousand francs.
The reason for the restrictions lies in the energy crisis, caused by the consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Remember, the Norwegian government proposes to allocate 200 million dollars (2 billion NOK) to supply gas to Ukraine.
Note that due to the reduction in Russian gas exports, Norway has become the main supplier to Europe, which continues to increase production.
