The working group on the initiative discussed the development of preventive medicine in Ukraine based on the “health basket” program.
Ukraine began to develop a program for the development of preventive medicine and support for the health of Ukrainians during the war. This issue was discussed at a press conference on Tuesday, August 6, by representatives of private and public clinics and related businesses, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
The development of the program was due to the needs of wartime medicine, explained the head of the Health Support Program, NSDC consultant on preventive medicine Yevgeny Shagov.
“We already see that the war and chronic stress have a very negative impact on various aspects of health. All this is happening against the backdrop of the decline in the wealth of Ukrainians and the fact that a significant part of Ukrainians abroad, where most of them often have a language barrier and lack quality health insurance to effectively take care of your health,” he said.
According to him, chronic severe stress that a person faces in war conditions leads to a whole range of negative health consequences. To prevent this, according to Shagov, an effective and affordable system of preventive medicine can be.
The goal of the program is to develop an effective “health basket”, which will include, in particular, personally selected vitamins and microelements. Monitoring the health status of patients, taking medications, adjusting all parts of the prevention program can be carried out using online tools and distance medicine.
Shagov pointed out that the development of the program and the “health basket” began even before the war, the creation of which was announced in 2020 by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Now its authors have accumulated a sufficient amount of information about its positive effect on health.
The world’s leading experts of Anti-Age-medicine, Age Management, specialists from private and public medical institutions of Ukraine took part in the program work.
The relevance of the integration of preventive medicine in the general health care system was noted by the Deputy Director of the Institute of Occupational Medicine. Kundieva NAMSU Irina Sysoenko.
“In a state of war and an emergency load on the health care system, it is especially important to prevent the onset of diseases in time. The timely analysis allows us to detect the accumulation of heavy metals and dangerous substance in the body, and preventive measures will protect against serious diseases in the future,” he said.
In turn, the general director of the Oxford Medical clinic (Kyiv) Tatyana Shvyreva noted that with the start of the military invasion, people began to seek medical help not only in urgent and emergency conditions, but also also in a state of stress, psychological instability and “misunderstanding what to do with their chronic diseases.”
“Some people are cut off from doctors, from pharmacies, but they need to continue to be treated and receive consultations about their state of health. We see what months of lack of opportunity for people who receive qualified help against a background of severe stress lead to,” he said.
According to Dmitry Grekulov, director of the Biotus.ua platform, his company plans to expand the existing production of Ukrainian vitamin preparations based on the recommendations made by project experts.
According to Elena Gritsay, head of medical booking at DOC.UA, it is possible to get recommendations and become a member of the program using the DOC.UA medical online hub platform.
It should be noted that Russian troops destroyed and damaged 927 health institutions in Ukraine, but 52 institutions were completely rebuilt, and 200 were partially restored.
