The Turkish company decided not to take money for these drones, but gave them to Ukrainian defenders for free.
Three Bayraktar TB2 drones, which the Turkish company Baykar Makina promised to transfer to the Ukrainian side free of charge for the funds raised as part of the People’s Bayraktar project, have been delivered to Ukraine. Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar Makina, told Ukrinform about this at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Poland.
“We have delivered the Bayraktar from the Lithuanian action to Ukraine and we have already delivered three Bayraktar drones from the Prytula action. They are already in Ukraine,” said Bayraktar.
As the Turkish entrepreneur emphasized, Ukraine is now suffering from baseless and unjust aggression. As a result, many people in Ukraine mobilized and supported the campaign to raise funds for the purchase of Turkish drones. He noted that the Turkish company also wanted to join this action, so it was decided not to take money for these drones, but it was agreed that the funds raised would be spent on humanitarian projects.
Bayraktar added that the Turkish side supports Ukraine’s sovereignty, wishes for peace with Ukrainians and respects the Ukrainian nation’s resistance against aggression for the country’s independence.
Recall that at the end of June, Ukrainian showman and volunteer Serhiy Prytula announced that Ukrainians raised money in three days to buy three Bayraktar strike drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Subsequently, the Turkish company announced that it would give Ukraine three drones for free, and the money collected by the Prytula Foundation would be spent on humanitarian aid to Ukrainians. However, in August, Prytula said that his fund bought a satellite for the Armed Forces of Ukraine with funds raised by Ukrainians for the purchase of drones. Due to this, the Ukrainian army will quickly receive high-quality satellite imagery that will help the Ukrainian military in planning operational operations.
