Employees of the Russian diplomatic mission tried to prevent the action, but they failed.
In Washington, activists displayed an image of the Ukrainian flag at the Russian embassy building. On the night of Friday, April 15, CNN reported.
The rally was reportedly conducted by 11 people led by Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Benjamin Witts.
“We will not block the gates of the embassy, we have found another way to get through their walls,” the activist was quoted as saying by the TV channel.
According to Witts, about 15 searchlights and four generators were assembled to project the Ukrainian flag onto the Russian embassy at night. At the same time, during the action, employees of the Russian diplomatic mission tried to light the spotlights for several hours in a row, but eventually they endured the presence of the Ukrainian flag on their walls.
