Residents of the temporarily occupied peninsula left for other countries so that the Russian invaders would not draft them into the army.
Residents of temporarily occupied Crimea are leaving the peninsula because they fear being drafted into the Russian army. This is what the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tamila Tasheva said on the air of the national telethon on Monday, September 5.
“Locals are leaving Georgia, Armenia, Turkey and other countries,” he explained.
According to him, the occupiers will soon start the registration campaign in the fall.
He also noted that it is difficult to get out of the temporarily occupied peninsula to the territories controlled by Ukraine through the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
Residents of the temporarily occupied peninsula, who still manage to travel to Zaporozhye, Odessa, Krivoy Rog or other Ukrainian cities, can use evacuation trains, Tasheva added.
We remind you, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Ukraine itself will decide how to return Crimea.
Note that in occupied Crimea there are from 500,000 to 800,000 Russian citizens who entered the peninsula illegally.
