Servicemen arrived at the pier aboard a speedboat. The fate of most of the crew, 496 people, remains unknown.
Ambulances transported 14 sailors of the cruiser Moskva to hospitals in Sevastopol. The fate of the others, 496 crew members, is unknown. This was announced on Thursday, April 14, by journalist Roman Tsymbalyuk.
According to him, among the hospitalized sailors was the head of the ship’s medical service.
“Servicemen arrived at the pier aboard a speedboat, where ambulances were already waiting for them. The fate of the others, 496 crew, is unknown,” Tsymbalyuk wrote.
Earlier, Operational Command South said the cruiser Moskva was hit by Neptune missiles, after which it received major damage and a fire broke out. According to him, other ships tried to help the Moscow crew, but due to the explosion and storm, he capsized on his side and began to sink.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the cruiser Moskva did not sink as a result of the explosion of bullets and the fire and “maintained buoyancy.”
Later, the Pentagon confirmed that after a serious explosion, the ship remained afloat and moved under its own power, possibly in the port of Sevastopol.
