The initial group of the delegation could not continue moving to ZNPP for security reasons, Alexander Starukh said.
The Russians are taking a pre-agreed route for the IAEA mission from Zaporozhye to ZNPP. This was announced on September 1 by the head of Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Starukh.
He noted that the UN advance team could not continue the move for security reasons.
“Ukraine continues to make efforts to ensure the safe access of the international mission of the IAEA to the Zaporizhia NPP. We demand that the Russian Federation cease provocations and provide unhindered access to the IAEA to Ukrainian nuclear facility,” Starukh insisted.
Earlier it was reported that Russian troops were shelling Energodar from mortars and machine guns starting at five in the morning. The enemy also used a helicopter.
Recall that on August 31, an IAEA mission left Kyiv to assess the situation at the Russian-occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense stated that the supervision of the work of Energodar and the occupiers of the ZNPP prevented the arrival of representatives of the organization.
