The network of agents included five local residents recruited by Russian special services.
Law enforcement officials have neutralized another Russian intelligence network. The attackers checked the locations and movement routes of the Defense Forces in the territory of Donbass. This was reported by the SBU.
It was noted that agents of the Russian Federation are interested in information about the combat positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the redeployment of Ukrainian military equipment in the areas of Slavyansk, Bakhmut and Kramatorsk.
“To collect intelligence, they conducted secret visual surveillance of objects using photo and video recording tools. The collected information was sent to representatives of the Russian special services through an unknown telegram channels that previously worked, adding geolocation. The aggressors used this information for massive rocket and artillery strikes and preparing sabotage near the front line,” the statement said.
It was established that the agent network included five local residents who were recruited by Russian special services to conduct reconnaissance and subversive activities in eastern Ukraine.
To hide the crimes, the perpetrators acted autonomously and maintained communication through “messengers”. They turned out to be two members of the terrorist organization “DPR”, which is part of the working groups of the Russian Federation in the eastern direction.
During the searches, law enforcement officials found computers and mobile phones on the agents.
Detainees are informed of the suspicion and a measure of restraint in the form of detention is chosen. Investigators from the Security Service have completed their investigation into the four suspects and submitted charges to the court.
