Annalena Burbock suggested suspending the visa facilitation agreement so that multi-year visas could no longer be issued to Russian citizens.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said that Germany has suspended the visa facilitation agreement with Russia. This was reported by TASS.
According to him, Europe needs to find a joint solution with different positions.
“My proposal is to suspend the visa facilitation agreement so that we no longer issue multi-year visas, to allow the states that are most affected by this issue to review carefully what purposes the visas are used for,” said Burbock.
Remember that the EU is preparing to complicate the issuance of visas for Russians. Brussels aims to “go beyond restricting visa facilitation” and may take further steps in this direction before the end of the year.
It was also reported that EU member states have to consider political aspects in the issue of issuing visas for citizens of the Russian Federation.
