Brooklyn Subway Shooting Suspect Arrested In Manhattan –

A man suspected of mass shooting on the New York City subway on Tuesday morning was arrested after police received information from the public on the Crime Stoppers hotline, authorities said.

Frank Robert James, 62, was arrested Wednesday afternoon, about 30 hours after the shooting, after being seen walking the streets of Lower Manhattan, authorities said at a news conference this afternoon.

“We hope this arrest will bring comfort to the victims and to the people of New York City,” said Kichant Sewell, commissioner of the New York City Police Department. “We have used all resources at our disposal to collect and process relevant evidence directly related to the shooting of Mr. James. James was first named as a man interested in the hunt after he was identified as a U-Haul rental van who may have been involved in the violence, authorities said.

The key to the van was found at the subway station along with other items allegedly belonging to the killer, including a credit card in James’ name. Authorities said James rented the car in Philadelphia. Later it was about five blocks from the subway station.
