In the Luhansk region, on April 14, the evacuation of the population was planned in five directions – the Mountain Community, Popasnaya, Lisichansk, Rubizhne and Severodonetsk. This was announced by the head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Serhiy Gaidai.
“Yesterday we were not allowed to open humanitarian corridors – there were no guarantees about safety. Hundreds of people were waiting. How could they leave? Therefore, we tried to evacuate from where we could get in. We succeeded in four directions, except for “Rubizhne. The residents of Kremennaya have left a different route. We will save the lives of the inhabitants of the region today,” he said.
According to the head of the Lugansk Regional State Administration, due to the fact that in many communities there is no electricity for a long time, and at the same time television and Internet, in some places there is no mobile connection, some locals only learn residents about free evacuation when they go to a bomb shelter or to remote areas where police, rescuers or volunteers deliver humanitarian aid.
“Those willing to leave are taken to collection areas on the same transportation. Or they return at a later time for those who are still hesitant. However, there is little time for reflection. Decide to rescue the children, parents and yourself. It’s not too late. Buses are waiting for you. There are enough places and flights for everyone. Don’t wait until the last minute, “Gaidai said.
