Artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian self-propelled artillery installation “Msta-S” in the Kharkiv region.
This was announced on August 29 by the press service of the National Guard and showed a corresponding video on its Facebook page.
The guardsmen said that the self-propelled gun 2S19 “Msta-S”, which is capable of hitting 29 km, was destroyed in the north of the Kharkov region near the state border with Russia.
This is the result of the joint work of the artillery reconnaissance of the National Guard and the artillery crew of one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Guardsmen and representatives of the MTR with the help of UAVs reconnoitered the target, corrected the fire and verified the results. Artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted an accurate and filigree fire defeat on the enemy self-propelled guns, the National Guard commented on the blow.
2S19 “Msta-S” (GBTU index – object 316, according to NATO classification – M1990 “Farm”) – Soviet and Russian 152-mm divisional self-propelled howitzer. Developed at the Ural Transport Engineering Plant.
The 2S19 self-propelled guns are designed to destroy tactical nuclear weapons, artillery and mortar batteries, tanks and other armored vehicles, anti-tank weapons, manpower, air defense and missile defense systems, command posts, as well as to destroy field fortifications and obstruct maneuvers of enemy reserves in the depths of his defense. .
It can fire at observable and unobservable targets from concealed positions and direct fire, including work in mountainous conditions.
