Scholz proposed to include the three countries in the Schengen area

It is important to protect, develop Schengen and “close the remaining gaps,” said the German Chancellor.

Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria fully meet the requirements to become full members of the Schengen area. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this, Reuters reports on Monday, August 29.

“Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria meet all the technical requirements for full membership in the Schengen area. I will work to ensure that they become full members and encourage colleagues to do their best as well,” said Scholz during a visit to the Czech capital of Prague.

According to him, Schengen is one of the greatest achievements of the European Union, therefore it is important to protect, develop and “close the remaining gaps.”

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainians in Poland will receive an e-document for crossing borders in the EU. It acts as a residence permit used in conjunction with a travel document to cross the EU’s external border.
