In Ukraine, a full-scale Russian invasion has already killed 379 children.
At least 733 more children were injured of varying severity. This was announced today, August 28, by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
These figures are not final, since work is underway to establish them in places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories, the department notes.
Children in the following regions suffered the most:
- Donetsk region – 388;
- Kharkiv region – 202;
- Kyiv region – 116;
- Chernihiv region – 68;
- Mykolaiv region – 67;
- Luhansk region – 61;
- Kherson region – 55;
- Zaporozhye region – 44.
In particular, on August 26, as a result of the shelling of the housing infrastructure of the village of Kamenka, Pologovsky district, Zaporozhye region, two boys aged eight years and one year and 8 months old were killed.
It is noted that due to Russian bombing and shelling, 2,328 educational institutions have already been damaged, of which 289 have been completely destroyed.
