The fighting began after one armed group attacked another’s base, killing 13 civilians.

In the Libyan capital Tripoli on Saturday, August 27, there were clashes between armed groups, according to the Associated Press.

According to local media, fighting broke out between two armed groups led by Haytam Tajouri and Abdel Ghani al-Kikli.

The emergency service reported that a well-known Libyan comedian, Mustafa Baraka, and at least 12 civilians died from gunshot wounds to the chest.

The Al Arabiya agency clarified that the fighting started on Saturday night and continued until the morning. It is said that the fighting started after one of the groups attacked the other’s base.

As reported, in February, unknown people opened fire on the car of Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba in Tripoli. The attempt was made after the head of government rejected the parliament’s decision to appoint a new prime minister to head the country’s transitional government.
