Raytheon Co., of Tewkesbury, Massachusetts, has been awarded a $182,295,333 fixed-price contract to procure National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS),” the statement said.
The estimated completion date for construction is August 23, 2024.
The funds were allocated as part of the so-called “Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative” implemented by Washington.
The US Department of Defense is also allocating $400 million to increase production of GMLRS missiles.
It will be remembered that this week the United States announced a new $2.98 billion military aid package to Ukraine. This includes six additional NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems with additional ammunition. First deliveries are expected this fall.
