The Lithuanian authorities intend to purchase 37 Polish Warmate drones and transfer them to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About this August 26 reported Lithuanian Minister of Defense Arvydas Anusauskas.
According to him, the batch of weapons will be paid for with money raised as part of the Legion of Boom initiative.
“Part of the funds raised through the Legion Of Boom (1,000,000 euros) will be transferred to the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense and used to buy 37 kamikaze drones from Poland, and then send them to Ukraine,” said the head of the department in a statement.
Warmate is an attack unmanned aerial system designed to engage the enemy through self-destruction. It can be classified as a “projectile aircraft” or “loitering ammunition”. Developed by the Polish company WB Electronics. The drone must be used in conjunction with a FlyEye UAV that provides reconnaissance data.
Earlier, the Lithuanian journalist Andrius Tapinas informed that the Bayraktar drone, for which the Lithuanians raised more than five million euros, is already destroying the Russian invaders in Ukraine.
