In Pakistan, 937 people have died in devastating floods that have hit the country since mid-June due to heavy monsoon rains. This was reported by the National Disaster Management Administration (NDMA), writing on Friday, August 26, CNN.
As indicated, in general, 33 million people were affected by the natural disaster, which the authorities called “the worst humanitarian disaster of this decade”, about 30 million of them lost their homes.
“Pakistan is experiencing its eighth monsoon season, while the country usually sees only three or four rains,” the NDMA quoted the publication as saying.
Declaring a state of emergency in the country, the authorities requested international assistance.

As reported earlier in Pakistan, 126 people died in two days as a result of flood-related incidents. Most of the victims are women and children.
Let’s add that India is also suffering from “big water”. There, floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains have killed at least 50 people in three days.
