The Russian strike on the Chaplino station killed more than 20 people
The Russian invaders fired five missiles at the village of Chaplino and the railway station of the same name in the Dnepropetrovsk region. As a result of the attack, five wagons of a passenger train were burned, and the houses of local residents were destroyed. The victims of the attack were, according to the latest data, 22 people, approximately 50 others were injured.
In general, the attackers pelted cities and towns in Ukraine throughout the day. Almost all missiles are intercepted by the air defense system.
Biden announced record aid for Ukraine
US President Joe Biden, on behalf of all Americans, congratulated the people of Ukraine on Independence Day and announced a new $2.98 billion military aid package for Kyiv.
These include, in particular, six NASAMS air defense systems with additional ammunition, Puma reconnaissance drones and auxiliary equipment for the Scan Eagle UAV, shells for howitzers and more.
Shoigu acknowledged the slowdown in the Russian military offensive in Ukraine
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu acknowledged the waning of the invaders’ offensive in Ukraine. According to him, this was “a conscious decision, due to the desire to minimize civilian casualties.”
