US President Joe Biden today, August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day, announced the provision of the largest military assistance to our state in the amount of $ 2.98 billion due to the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.
Ukraine will receive air defense systems, artillery systems and ammunition, unmanned aerial systems and radars. This is stated in Biden’s statement, published on the White House website.
Biden congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day and reiterated support from Washington.
Today is not only a celebration of the past, but also a loud confirmation that Ukraine proudly remains and will remain a sovereign and independent state, he stressed.
In addition, Ukraine should receive a $3 billion non-refundable grant from the United States.
Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko announced this on his Facebook page.
On this day, there is positive news on the financial front. Today we will receive 3 billion US dollars from the United States to the state budget in the form of a non-refundable grant,” Marchenko said.
According to him, these funds will come through the mechanism of the World Bank.
I am grateful to our American partners and the World Bank team for their strong support to Ukraine. Grant assistance is a significant gift for our country on the Independence Day of Ukraine,” Marchenko emphasized.
Recall, according to the American media, the United States plans to transfer Excalibur high-precision long-range projectiles to Ukraine. It is believed that one of these shells can replace at least ten ordinary ones on average.
