According to the UN, almost a third of the inhabitants of Ukraine left their homes because of the war

According to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, on February 1, 2022, the population of Ukraine was about 41.13 million people, not counting people living in the occupied Crimea, Sevastopol, as well as the so-called DPR and LPR.
According to the UN, from the end of February to mid-August, about 10 million border crossings were registered in the direction from Ukraine to Europe. Of these, about 4 million people returned home.
Another part of the Ukrainians was forcibly taken to Russia or they moved within the country.
About 155,000 children from Ukraine study in German schools, the Conference of Ministers of Education in Berlin reported. The federal states reported 154,761 pupils in schools during the 33rd calendar week. Compared to the previous week, their number increased by 4,690.
Most of the federal states have not yet published data due to the summer holidays. The indicated number of students refers to general education schools and vocational schools.
