The self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the people of Ukraine on Independence Day, his press service reports.
“I am convinced that today’s contradictions will not be able to destroy the centuries-old foundation of sincere good-mutual relations between the peoples of the two countries. Belarus will continue to stand for the preservation of unity, the -development of friendly mutual respectful contacts at all levels,” the message said.
He wished the Ukrainians “a peaceful sky, tolerance, courage, strength and success in restoring a decent life.”
Remember that exactly six months ago, on February 24, Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine. The authorities in Minsk deny the participation of the Belarusian army in the hostilities on the side of the Russian Federation, at the same time, the territory of Belarus from the beginning of the invasion, and also in some periods later, was actively used by the Russian Army who attacked Ukraine.
