The purpose of the attack on Donetsk was to justify the attacks on Ukrainian government buildings on August 24, military analysts said.

Russian occupiers fired at the “administration” of “DNR” leader Denis Pushilin in Donetsk to justify attacks on Ukrainian government buildings on Independence Day. This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) for August 23.

Pushilin was found to be absent during the shelling.

“Russian media presented the attack as a direct Ukrainian strike on the government building of the “DPR” to create information conditions for retaliatory strikes on Ukrainian government buildings on Independence Day,” said military analysts.

ISW recalled that Ukrainian authorities called on civil servants in Kyiv to work from home during the week from August 22 to 26 due to the threat of a Russian missile attack.
