Polish President Andrzej Duda called for the dismantling of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline laid along the bottom of the Baltic Sea as a sign of a change in Western policy towards Russia.
According to Duda, there can be no return to business as usual with Russia when it is at war with Ukraine. The President of Poland said this in his speech at the second summit of the Crimean Platform, the Ukrinform agency reports.
The change in policy (in Russia – ed.) in the West is not just the suspension or complete cessation of Nord Stream 2, but the complete dismantling of this gas pipeline, Poland emphasized.
He stressed that the construction of Nord Stream 2 began after the illegal annexation of Crimea.
I believe that many of us need to look into our souls and ask ourselves what happened after last year’s meeting (at the inaugural Crimean Platform Summit – ed.), weren’t too many countries showing Russia that they agree to somehow appease her in order to it was possible to continue doing business as usual,” Duda noted.
The President of Poland added that after the bombings of Kyiv and Kharkov committed by Russia, as well as the crimes in Irpin, Borodyanka and Bucha and the destruction of Mariupol, there can be no return to the demarcation line on February 23, 2022.
It is necessary to liberate the entire territory of Ukraine, together with the Crimea, – he believes.
