The Russians are suffering huge losses in Ukraine and at the same time they are holding the International Army Games.
A significant part of the Russian military believes that it is inappropriate to continue to use forces to participate in military ceremonial events in peacetime, while Russian troops are suffering heavy losses in Ukraine, according to a daily British intelligence report.
In the run-up to the invasion, Igor Girkin, a Russian hardliner, former FSB officer and minister in the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic,” became increasingly outspoken in his criticism of the Kremlin’s handling of the war in Ukraine, the report said.
On August 19, Girkin published a heavily-admired critique of President Zelensky’s wartime behavior. He compared it to the situation in Russia, where “at the end of the sixth month of the war we are still playing tank biathlon and holding military band festivals,” the report said.
The tank biathlon is the culmination of the International Army Games of Russia, which, as in ordinary years, was held near Moscow last week.
Recall that local TV was hacked in Crimea and began to show the address of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
