The city’s mayor, David Hambardzumyan, is on vacation until today, he was not in the building at the time of the incident.

A man armed with a grenade entered the office building of the mayor of the Armenian city of Masis, 15 km from Yerevan. This was reported on Friday, August 19, by the online edition 168.am.

The man fired several shots from a pistol, then the eyewitnesses heard, perhaps, an explosion.

The building is currently cordoned off by the police.

Armenian police are talking to the man.

Vice Mayor of Masis Norayr Hakobyan, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia, said that the man entered the building in a state of intoxication.

According to Hraparak newspaper, the assailant is a 40-year-old man named Eduard Margaryan, who was a former member of the Masis Council of Elders.

Remember that a terrorist was detained in Israel, who shot people at the Wailing Wall.
