The Russians are engaged in activities that are incompatible with the provisions of the Vienna Convention, the Foreign Ministry said.
Romania has declared a representative of the Russian embassy persona non grata. This was announced by the country’s Foreign Ministry on Friday, August 19.
“The Romanian authorities have decided to declare persona non grata on Romanian territory as a representative of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bucharest, informed of the above decision by order of Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu,” the report said.
It was noted that such a decision was made due to the incompatibility of the embassy’s representative activities with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Russian left the country this week.
It was previously reported that Montenegro declared the ambassador of the Russian Federation persona non grata. Russian diplomat Vladislav Maslennikov had to leave the country for seven days. If he does not do this, he does not have any diplomatic power.
