Exercises with the participation of troops from CSTO member countries are planned to be held at the Kazakh training ground Matybulak.
Russia and Kazakhstan will conduct joint military exercises. This was said by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with Kazakhstan’s President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev in Sochi, the Kremlin press service reported on Friday, August 19.

“Our ministries and departments are actively working, the intergovernmental commission is actively working, the ministries of foreign affairs, the ministries of defense are preparing various events, including joint training within the framework of CSTO, etc,” Putin said.
It is known that in June Kazakhstan hosted a second staff dialogue focused on the preparation of special exercises Poisk-2022, Echelon-2022 and command-staff exercises Interaction-2022. All these events, which combined the training of different parts of the CSTO troops, are planned to be held at the Kazakh training ground Matybulak.
The CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization – ed.), in addition to Russia and Kazakhstan, includes Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
It will be recalled that in June, the President of Kazakhstan directly told Putin that he would not recognize the “LDNR”. After this, a trade war began between the states.
