Ukrainian and Turkish leaders, as well as the UN Secretary General, raised issues of the nuclear threat, the retention of prisoners of war and the export of grain.
During the talks of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Lviv, the parties discussed, first of all, the situation in ZNPP, Russia’s attitude towards prisoners and the initiative of grain.
The Ukrainian head of state spoke about this in a video message on Thursday, August 18.

Regarding what is happening at ZNPP, Zelensky told his interlocutors that “Russia should immediately and unconditionally allow IAEA representatives to the station and immediately and unconditionally withdraw its troops from the territory of the station .”
“The world has the power to ensure this,” he stressed.
The Ukrainian leader also called on the Secretary General of the UN to use all the possibilities of the organization to ensure that the Russian Federation complies with all standards of international law regarding prisoners.
“We discussed sending a fact-finding mission to Yelenovka. The full truth about this Russian terrorist attack must and will be established,” the president added.
Finally, during the discussion, the parties recognized that the grain initiative has results, and that it is felt that the severity of the global food crisis is decreasing. At the same time, Zelensky is pushing to expand Ukrainian grain exports.
Remember, the President of Turkey, following the results of the trilateral talks in Lviv, said that he believes that the war in Ukraine can end at the negotiating table.
