Erdogan and Guterres sincerely sympathize with Ukraine and want to solve the problems, the Foreign Minister assured.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General António Guterres coordinated actions on key issues at a meeting in Lviv. At the same time, no one urged Ukraine to make concessions in favor of Russia. This is what Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said in a video message posted on Facebook on Thursday, August 18.
He expressed the opinion that until the end of the war, the solution of many problems through diplomacy depends on the coordination and decisions of “these three”.
“There is a mutual understanding between them, this is the main thing. The presidents and the Secretary General coordinate not only the positions, but their actions on the main issues: the grain corridor, the ZNPP, the liberation to our prisoners, said Kuleba.
The minister stressed that Erdogan and Guterres sincerely sympathize with Ukraine and want to solve the problems.
“No one urged us to make concessions in favor of Russia. If some kind of “zrada” will fly again on social networks, then I want to say right away that it did not happen, “said Kuleba.
He added that Zelensky and Erdogan spoke for a long time, more than expected.
“There was a tete-a-tete meeting, and it allowed me to work fruitfully for an hour, to make the summit of the Crimean platform. The summit will be, it will be very cool, ” Kuleba assured.
Earlier, President Zelensky called the necessary conditions under which negotiations between Ukraine and Russia would be possible.
Recall, today the Turkish media, citing a source, reported that Erdogan will convey to Zelensky the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold direct negotiations.
