Explosives are being sought in Lvov, Cherkassy, Kropyvnytskyi, Vinnitsa and Ternopil. At the same time, a meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey, as well as the Secretary General of the UN, is taking place in parallel in Lviv.
In several Ukrainian cities on Thursday, August 18, police received reports of alleged mining of railway stations, shopping centers and other facilities. Explosives are being sought in Lvov, Cherkassy, Kropyvnytskyi, Vinnitsa and Ternopil. This was reported by the city authorities.
So, in Lvov, an unknown person reported about mass mining. They look for explosives, especially, in markets and stations. Igor Zinkevich, a deputy of the Lviv City Council, denied information circulating on social networks that explosives had been found in Franko Park.
At the same time, the local media wrote that it was reported about the mining of Krakow and Vinnikovsky market, the Magnus shopping center and the train station. At the train station, people were evacuated. Cynological and explosive services, the State Emergency Service, an ambulance and station security are working in the area.
Also in Cherkassy, there is a message about “mining” two things – the bus station and the train station. Law enforcement officials are checking them for the presence of explosives.
Investigations continue in Vinnitsa, Ternopil and Kropyvnytskyi.
It was previously reported that in Vinnytsia and Ternopil, explosives experts examined train stations. In Ternopil, they also searched for explosives in a department store, and in Vinnytsia, in a bus station and a market.
By the way, today a meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and Turkey, Volodymyr Zelensky and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as the UN Secretary General António Guterres, is scheduled in Lviv.
