Russian occupation troops are planning to continue the offensive in some sectors of the front.
The troops of the Russian Federation conducted offensives in separate sectors of the front. But none of them succeeded. The APU rebuffed the attacks. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning report on August 18.
It was noted that the enemy continues to focus on establishing full control over the territories of Lugansk and Donetsk regions, maintaining the temporarily captured areas of Kherson and parts of Kharkov, Zaporozhye and Mykolaiv regions, creating favorable conditions for continuing the offensive in several directions, as well as blocking Ukrainian sea lanes in the Cherny sea.
In the directions of Volyn and Polesye, the situation has not changed significantly. Armed forces units continue to carry out tasks to strengthen the protection of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border section in the Brest and Gomel regions. The threat of enemy missile and air strikes from the territory and airspace of the Republic of Belarus remains.
In the direction of Seversk, the enemy continues to hold units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the borders of the Bryansk and Kursk regions in order to fetter the actions of the units of the Defense Forces.
Cannon artillery was carried out in the areas of the settlements of Volkovka, Yastrubino and Popovka in the Sumy region.
Under the direction of Slobozhansky, the enemy continues to conduct battles to hold the previously occupied lines and prevent the offensive of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
It was also reported that in the direction of Kharkiv, the military of the Russian Federation opened fire from tanks, cannons and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Karasovka, Petrovka, Bazalievka, Rtishchevka, Duvanka, Ivanovka, Mospanovo, Lesnoye, Bolshiye Prokhody, Pitomnik, Gusarovka and Chepil.
In addition, the enemy conducted remote mining in the area near Lebyazhye.
In the Slavic direction, the enemy fired artillery in the areas of Bolshaya Kamyshevakhi, Vernopolye, Adamovka and Dovgenkiy.
In the direction of Kramatorsk, the Russian army opened fire from tanks and multiple rocket launchers in the areas of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Disputed, Donetsk, Ivano-Daryevka, Seversk, Zvonovka and Raygorodok. An air strike was launched near Vesely.
The enemy advances in the direction of Nikolaevka – Vyemka, without success, retreats.
In the direction of Bakhmut, shelling was recorded near Bakhmut, Soledar, Razdolevka, Kodema and Mayorsk.
The invaders also launched an offensive in the direction of Vladimirovka – Soledar, Pokrovskoye – Bakhmutskoye, Pokrovskoye – Bakhmut, Klinovo – Bakhmut, Semigorye – Zaitsevo, Semigorye – Kodema and Golmovsky – Zaitsevo. The invaders did not achieve any positive results in any of the directions of the offensive and retreated with losses.
In the direction of Avdeevka, the enemy opened fire from cannon, rocket artillery and tanks near Avdeevka, Marinka, Alexandropol, Peskov, Pervomaisky and Experienced.
There was an attempted attack in the direction of Lozovoye – Pervomayskoye, the enemy was unsuccessful, he retreated.
In the directions of Novopavlovsk and Zaporozhye, Russian troops are defending the occupied areas. The areas of the settlements of Novoselka, Novomikhailovka, Bogoyavlenka, Stepnogorsk, Shevchenko, Burlatskoye, Zheleznodorozhnoye, Gulyaipolskoye, Lukyanovskoye, Preobrazhenka, Poltavka were shot.
The enemy also conducted UAV aerial reconnaissance near Poltavka, Gulyaipole, Malinovka, Zeleny Roshcha, Shcherbakov and Novoyakovlovka. He tried to conduct offensive operations in the direction of Yegorovka – Shevchenko, but without success, retreated.
Under the direction of Yuzhnobuzhsky, the occupiers focused their main efforts on maintaining the occupied areas and preventing the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Shelling was recorded near the settlements of Nikolaev, Stepnaya Dolina, Luch, Posad-Pokrovskoye, Galitsinovo, Aleksandrovka, Mirnoye, Shirokoye, Aprilskoye, Kiselevka, Kobzartsy, Pervomayskoye, Kavkaz, Murahovka, Andreevka, Osokorovka, Ivanovka and Truruk.
Air strikes were carried out near Belaya Krinitsa, Blagodatny, as well as in Khutorskaya gully. Aerial reconnaissance of the UAV was carried out in the areas of Belogorka, Lozovoye, Pervomayskoye, Aleksandrovka, Trudolyubovka, Osokorovka and Ivanovka settlements.
According to the General Staff, two carriers of sea-based cruise missiles are ready for the use of high-precision weapons.
