Russian war criminals in the Kherson region continue to prepare for a pseudo-referendum, despite the resistance of the local population. This was stated by the first deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Yuriy Sobolevsky.
They (the Russian occupiers – ed.) have already made so many political investments, let’s say, in the Kherson region, that they can no longer stop … therefore, they continue to prepare for this show. In any case, this is not a referendum, this is a show,” Ukrinform quoted the official as saying.
According to Sobolevsky, the invaders cannot report to Moscow that the population of the region hates them. Therefore, the occupiers are trying to prepare premises for “district commissions” and recruit people for the “picture”.
In addition, in the temporarily occupied Kherson, the Russian invaders again carried out searches and detentions at night.
At night, they (war criminals of Russia – ed.) again carried out their raids, there were searches again … In fact, every day, every night such information appears that they came for someone, ”he said.
According to him, there are many employees of the FSB and the National Guard in Kherson, who are nervous amid the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the logistics routes of Putin’s army. Therefore, the enemy terrorizes the civilian population, conducting night searches and detentions. Sobolevsky noted that the invaders are looking for members of the resistance movement, partisans and those who help the Armed Forces of Ukraine with information. In addition, teachers, heads of educational institutions, doctors are of interest to them – people who refuse to cooperate with the enemy.
It also became known that in the village of Gornostaevka, the invaders dismantled the monument “To the Day of Independence of Ukraine” and the memorial sign “Fighters for the Freedom and Independence of Ukraine” with a crane.
