Moscow says it provides prisoners of war in Ukraine with “everything necessary” and “highly qualified medical care.”
The Russian occupiers were holding approximately 1,700 Ukrainian soldiers and civilians in captivity. On Monday, April 11, Reuters wrote referring to Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk.
He noted that of all the captives, 500 were women.
Vereshchuk said the occupiers treated Ukrainian captives badly.
According to him, “they force themselves to stand up, they don’t make them sit down. They shave their heads, they force them to undress every day for examination. They degrade human dignity.”
“But our girls and women are asking us to continue to fight for our success,” she stressed.
At the same time, Moscow says it provides prisoners of war in Ukraine with “everything necessary” and “highly qualified medical care” in accordance with international law.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Lyudmila Denisova, said that keeping one hostage per day costs Ukraine 50-100 hryvnias.
Recall that a special camp was created in Ukraine, where Russian prisoners of war would be kept, as there were many of them.
