After the country transferred the S-300 air defense system to the Ukrainian Army, the next step was the transfer of the Soviet MiG-29 aircraft.
Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger did not rule out the transfer of the MiG-29 fighter to Ukraine. On Monday, April 11, he said after a meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, writes Aktuality.
“Slovakia can no longer use fighters in that quantity, and if this equipment is used in one place, then in Ukraine,” he said.
Heger noted the fact that post-Soviet equipment, which was in the service of the Slovak army, was extremely dangerous and its further operation without Russian supplies, which Bratislava was not interested in, would not be viable.

He also said the country was in talks with partners to protect Slovakia’s airspace.
Heger expressed the hope that the results of these talks would be known within a few weeks.
Recall that Slovakia provided the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine. The deliveries were made in secret. However, the day before, after the deal was completed, the Slovak Ministry of Defense released a video of the transfer of weapons in Kiev.
Earlier, the Slovak Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian ambassador and asked to reduce the number of embassy staff by 35 people.
